How Does a DAF System Work?
In a DAF system, a portion of treated water is pressurized and saturated with air. When released into the flotation tank, microscopic air bubbles are formed. These bubbles attach to suspended solids, oil, grease, and flocs, causing them to float to the surface.
A mechanical skimmer removes the floated sludge, while clarified water is collected for further treatment.
